THE RED KING
AND HIS WHITE QUEEN
AND HIS WHITE QUEEN
Shrouded in an obsidian mood,
he hears a nigredo whisper
coaxing him to step free from shackles
coaxing him to step free from shackles
that cloak his leaden heart,
flickering light about to ignite
but for a sable chill
that penetrates the darkest recesses of his gloom
snuffing out the last flush of the waning moon
At that moment, the White Queen enteres the room
She commands the night, with brimstone fires
her volatile spirit clings to his mercurial cries,
a glimmer in the darkness begins to transpire
restoring lost hope
Despite pure glowing albedo skin
her aroma was enough to choke the last detectable remnants
of stubborn will into submission
Quicksilver awakenings
spark long forgotten alchemies
buried deep within unconsciousness
Raven dances with swan
upon diamond ponds
of deep durability
She is the blue flame
that guides him through a vast astral spectrum
buried deep within his ebon
He learns to use inner vision
while riding upon iridescent rainbows
to be reborn from citrinitas fire
...a rebirth enshrouded in battle weary blood
the red king reclaims his rightful place
beside his White Queen
His heart outstretched with a rubedo rose
...the final symbol of their unbreakable bond
They will be forever entwined in etheric union
a permanence that can not be repealed
birthing in immaculate conception
their aurulent love child

The song and clip has meaning, and to get deeper insight
to this, you can read about the Birds of Alchemy,
notably the peacock,
"With the Peacock stage, the alchemist has entered into the inner experience of the astral world, which initially appears as ever shifting patterns of colour. This experience is often symbolised in alchemy by the appropriate image of the peacock's tail with its splendid iridescence of colour"
enjoy!!!

I well know the power of the rose. It is a major part of who I am, on my good days.
ReplyDeleteLove your poem. Seems as if you were really feeling this one, as you were writing it. That is always a good thing.
yes Myke, the rose has much symbolism for me as well,
Deleteit's something I always seem to come back to in my writing
like a continuous, evolving story.
This write came about quite by accident actually, I went on one of my
"öpen in a new page" link hopping adventures, trying to make sense of
concepts that have been written about centuries before, but have relevance in my own life,
I just have a way of seeing and interpreting connections. I hardly ever expect anyone to read
these , let alone comment, and even less to understand,
so with that said, I am always grateful to you Myke for your thoughtful comments.
