I didn’t quite know it

or understand

as the boisterous, energetic girl
i once was

she...who never walked

but was always

Running

Jumping

Spinning

out of control

Chasing leaves

And balls

(and all the wrong boys)

I was actually always looking for YOU

I saw fragments of you

In many people that I met along the way

But how was I to know

that everything was a culmination of clues

Leading to you?

The leaves

(and the pieces of my puzzle)

 have long since settled on the ground’
and fallen into place

A blanket which I now walk amongst

I have now stopped running
and chasing
since I saw your face
