LUNA TIME

LUNA TIME

Succumbed by a slumber
Into peaceful respite
Free from consternation
no stubborn or persistent thoughts
to plague or haunt me

Oblivious to time
the moon tide is high
it transports my mind
to other worlds
where I no longer know
if its night or day
It is only when the first ray
touches the sheath of my closed eyes
that I stir from my sleep
slowly I rise
still feeling the effects of dream dust in my eyes

I look out my window to take a deep breath
and there I see her
suspended in time
looking so completely out of place

For the moon forgot to go to sleep
and so there, she stubbornly clings
 to the daytime sky
Persistent
Bold
Unapologetic
she refuses to go away

I have to smile
surely, she must have too much time
and nowhere better to go
so there I sit, at my window
admiring her tenacity
and her refusal to be put in her place
Its the honoring of her cycles
High
and low
 Light
and shadow
She only reveals what she feels
to the tuned in soul

And then she goes
to recoup her composure
and to hopefully find some closure
from those nagging
persistent thoughts
that go round in her head
She sees me just as she dips below a lazy horizon
and smiles back at me
and for the first time I see
That Im exactly where I am supposed to be
In this given moment in my life
and that there is no such thing
as too much time
