OBSERVANCE OF MOMENTS

OBSERVANCE OF MOMENTS

Does the Sun get asked
“where are you going?”
as it slowly sinks beneath
the twilight tangent arc
when it has exhausted its natural course?

For there is no need
If you are tuned into its cycles

Ive been in tune with your Rhythm
For the longest time now
And I have learnt that
To complain about shorter days
Is completely useless for me

Id rather spend time observing quietly
in an anticipated aware awe
unwilling to let anything spoil sacred opportunities
Lest a moment be lost to oblivion
because I know that you are worth waiting for
if not for only those few minutes of every day
where the amazing tapestry of your colours
are visible and come alive
to dance across the sky

But even better
Is the reassuring anticipation
Of your return.
