How Did You Know?

How did you know what I was going through

when I didn’t say a word?

How could you see my fragilities

even though I’d shut out the world?

How did you see past the illusion I’d projected

…it’s not that I’m deceitful

 It’s just the only way I felt protected

How did you read the story

that my eyes tried to hide?

When I never breathed a word.
