MOTHER EARTH

Mother Earth

She used to be a violent, unruly bitch
who sure knew how to stir up a storm

But after 41 000 years of feeling off kilter
she was given Prozac to make her more balanced
(and more receptive to being systematically raped)

Oh and not to mention the Hormone replacement therapy
to make her believe she was still young and nubile

But Mother Earth was no Mother Teresa

She had put up with shit for way too long
and was now thoroughly depleted of reserves

Mother Earth decided it was time to shake off
the lingering virus that has been plaguing her.

She began to mimic the very things she had been
putting up with so compliantly.

This lady was not going to take it lying down.
She was a woman on top.

Mother Earth was not vindictive, just misunderstood
and so very,  very tired

Tired of being relentlessly
and unlovingly fucked.

So she began to turn the tides-
She whipped up a few perfect storms
Shifted her poles
Re-arranged her crust
Relaxed her pelvic floor muscles
whilst in the midst
of some primal scream therapy

That got their attention!

“OH, it must be one of her melankovich
  menstrual CYCLES” They declared!

Which apparently was the cause of her Quasi-Periodic Variations.

They thought her medication wasn’t working.

No Mother f*****!
Everything is working just FINE!

I’m simply reclaiming what is rightfully MINE.

SCIENTIFIC EVE (rewriting herstory)

Scientific Eve

the theory of Eve-olution

Eve was a stubborn bitch who didn’t like to be told what to do.
Not one to suc cum,
Eve had a problem with Authority…

She had plans, thoughts, visions and dreams
that went beyond anything that could be conceived…
including the 7 billion children that ultimately sprung
forth from her womb.

But Eve seems to have bitten off more than she could chew…

Eve
it seems
knew too much.

She had answers to everything
She knew that the world was not flat
and that worlds existed beyond horizons unseen
Some would say she was taking a Quantum leap
of faith
coz
Eve had already figured out how to explore
Infinity

She was so very bored.

Eve began to look down on everyone else…
She retorted, patronized, ostracized
and had to have the last word on everything

It seems that Science had become her religion

But Eve had trouble identifying with her own image.
Not quite sure who she was, or where she actually came from
there was no answer to this particular equation
other than a supernal alien invasion

Preferring instead to rely on what boxes she was given to tick.

Why do we blindly trust and follow the latest trends?
and run the risk of losing
the magic
the miracles
the mystery
why do we limit the possibilities?

Are we brave enough to rewrite his-tory?
or
will we stubbornly cling
to whosever words carry the most authority?

well, I’m here to tell you
that like Eve
I want to write my own (her)story.

OH..
and did I tell you
that I how to make the best apple pie!

not long after i finished writing this, i heard this song playing on channel V
(my daughters were watching it, and it was the clean version playing).  It resonated
with me, despite the fact that I'm not a Nicki Minaj fan, per se.
